Overview

Because it can be difficult to write scientific and medical articles, in these pages, I will give some advice on how to create your manuscript. This will just be a brief overview of the process. I will discuss the conventions and highlight the specific areas showing differences among journals. For more detailed advice, I suggest consulting one of the many excellent books on scientific writing. Two that I use are Essentials of Writing Biomedical Research Papers by Mimi Zeiger and Scientific Writing and Communication: Papers, Proposals, and Presentations by Angelika H. Hofman. The latter, as the name suggests, covers other types of writing, such as grant applications, posters, and presentations.
